Tomorrow and Wednesday we are supposed to get a big winter storm. Something I am not looking forward to.
Something that has kept me out of those winter blues is pastel colors! I am so ready for Spring. I am working on some Spring/Easter things for the Etsy shop and it’s bringing my spirits up.
I am using this yarn to make some hats and my favorite thing, Fat Birdies! I am going to make one in all of these colors.
Some hats… many more colors to come
I also have some cotton yarn in my craft basket for any extra embellishments I want to add to the birdies
I was looking for something earlier today and found these Deco Color paint markers. I used to use these a lot when I was younger. My mom can do amazing things with these! I need to find something around the house I can start decorating.
Lastly, when I was at Michael's last week I splurged on some embroidery thread.
I used to use the thread to make friendship bracelets when I was in middle school! I remember winding those bobbins with all kinds of fun colors. I wish I could find my little box where I had all of my bracelet stuff. Ooo I bet it could have used some decorating with those paint pens too!
So I’m enjoying my time swimming in pastel colors and wishing the snow away
What are you folks doing to stay out of those winter blues?
I'm working with spring colors right now too :) they're just so happy looking, it's hard not to feel happy using them!
ReplyDeleteWhat happy colors!! I love your little birdies!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for those pretty spring colors. I wonder if you live in my neck of the woods. Snow starting here tomorrow and goes till the next day.
ReplyDeleteI just got some pretty lite pink Vanna yarn. Love the feel of it. I am making a baby hat.
I am in NE WI. Are you a WI girl too???
So pretty! I love the colors of that yarn and might have to make that the type I work with next! I've been wanting to try crocheting some cute little stuffed animals for a while now, so you inspired me to purchase the Fat Birdie pattern and get to it! ;)
ReplyDeleteJust popped in to see what was on your hook. You always have beautiful things going.. Blessings
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I wish I had some winter blues to chase away. 'Cos that would mean I'm enjoying proper seasons! And I know the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, but I envy your big winter storm!
ReplyDeleteNo winter blues here! 60 degrees in February, when we normally get snow. Strangest winter ever.
ReplyDeleteYour colors are so cheerful; I wish I had children in my life to make pastel things for.

I lvoe your choice of pastal colors, they are so pretty. And I bet they would make an awesome grouping for something big like a bag or a blanket or something. I absolutely adore your fat birdies. so darn cute! And I wish I could make hats like that. I just can't ever seem to get them right.
ReplyDeleteI used to make friendship bracelets all the time! I loved making those things and I had no idea why! I still make them from time to time, they were parts of Christmas presents this year since I was deployed to Afghanistan! They make good little book markers too!
Its snowed for almost a month straight here. I can't wait until it goes away. I do not miss the dust, but I am tired of the snow, the mud, and the ice.
Have a wonderful day!

Que cores lindas.
ReplyDeleteAdoro azul, e esse tom está maravilhoso.
Beijo.
It has hardly been winter around these parts (Maryland), but I am still itching for Spring to get here. Also, I can't wait to see the fat birds. My MIL -loves- fat birds, so I might just have to purchase one. Hope the storm isn't too bad and it will melt quickly. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute fat birdie and the hats are darling. I am always a lover of pastels. And I say "come on Spring!". I've been making bunnies and Easter eggs and egg cozies galore!

I love the colors of Spring, but I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to Winter yet :) Seeing your new paint pens makes me smile...I remember when you used mine (you were probably about 12) on many things around the house - nothing was safe!
ReplyDeleteI love all your beautiful pastels! You can't help but feel inspired when you see such delicious yarn! We are just coming to the end of our Summer here in New Zealand so it's still warm and bright. It won't be long until it gets cold again so I'm starting to make hats and gloves in preparation!!
ReplyDeleteHave a fab week.
Leah
I'm not normally a pastel girl, but that yarn looks so soft and sweet...love it!
ReplyDeleteLove all the colors <3 !
ReplyDeleteI love all your ear flap hats, any tricks to making them? Do you make your flaps seperate then stitch both on? Or are they in your pattern?
