Knitted Slouchy Hat

Recently I had the itch to knit again. I haven’t had a lot of time to sit and knit or crochet but I really wanted to make something. I took advantage of my hubby being home over the weekend and decided to knit a hat for Hailey.

This hat was really quick and easy to make. It was perfect for me since I am still kind of a knitting newbie and also it was fast. I am one of those people that doesn’t like a project to drag on. I like fast results. Maybe that’s why I have a granny square blanket just collecting dust in a bag somewhere in this house.

Check it out!

I had to throw this gem in there

I like how it can be worn as a slouchy hat or a regular beanie hat just by flipping up the bottom.

Miss Hailey wore this to school today since it is freezing outside. It’s keeping her little head nice and warm

………………….

I also wanted to add a couple things.

1. When I get comments from you lovely folks, I can’t always reply to your questions because of the dreaded “no-reply” setting you may have on your account. So if you need me to respond to a comment, please leave your email address or just email me.

2. Pattern…

I have been getting a lot of questions about my Girly Hat I make as far as a free pattern. Unfortunately someone on Pinterest posted the hat saying there was a free pattern on this blog. This is not true. I haven’t written out the pattern and it is not available. I wish there was a way to stop that pin from going around!

3. Tunisian Crochet… I have gotten a couple questions about your work curling when you are doing the Tunisian crochet stich. Unfortunately this is very common. The things I suggest to help you is to relax your hands, crochet loosely (give your yarn an extra little tug), and find the right yarn. Some yarns work better than others.

Thank you everyone for reading! Again if you have questions, feel free to just email me instead of asking in the comments.

  1. This is so super cute! I literally drool over how cute her patterns are, while I dream about the day when I will actually get the full hang of knitting. I've probably asked you this before but do you have any tips for a first project and/or resources for learning? I'm so impatient and just want to dive right into a hat or toy, but I know that's not too realistic. I know how to knit and purl, but I don't think my needles are great. My biggest issue is the stitches sliding off all the time!

Anyways, sorry I've rambled. I love the hat and am so glad you found the time for something you enjoy. It's encouraging as our little one will be arriving next week. ;)
