Yarn Overload

Today I went to Michael’s to pick up some yarn for my Etsy orders. I went today because I had a 25% off coupon for your entire purchase, including sale items! I went in and it turns out they also had a big sale on yarn.

Yarn sale + 25% off = Yarn overload!

I ended up stocking up on some colors and got a couple extra things just to have. I could have easily gotten more than what I did but I knew I would regret it later. I also enjoyed chatting with a gal who had a big cart filled to the top with yarn. She was a knitter so she asked me a bunch of questions about crocheting hats and other fun stuff.

Here’s what I got!

I realized I have built up a lot of colors in Michael’s Loops & Threads- Charisma. I love them all. Here are some of the colors I like…

It was a fun shopping trip!

Speaking of yarn, while my friend Katie was visiting, my daughter got into my bulky yarn stash. I couldn’t get upset at her because 1. she’s too dang cute and 2. because she didn’t hurt the yarn in any way.

She said she built herself a house

After building her house, she wanted to crochet a scarf for her puppy. (It’s the little piece of yellow yarn the the puppy’s head)

Well I’m off to play with some bulky yarn! I see many hats and cowls in the future

  1. What a fantastic purchase at Michaels. Your daughter looks so cute with all those balls of yarn ... a future crocheter.

  2. I was at Michael's this morning using that same coupon on yarn! I needed some skeins to finish some Christmas gifts, but I really wanted to buy more!! There were some gorgeous colors calling to me, but I was (pretty) good at resisting. :-)

    Love your new colors!

  4. Oh my!!! I am JEALOUS!! I'm hoping to run across a bag full of random yarn at a yard sale soon because I want yarn without spending a bunch of money on it...mostly because I'm cheap {frugal} like that lol.

  5. I've been wanting to go to Michael's for so long but I don't have one nearby; I just heard that my town is getting one sometime next year though so I'm really excited for that! And I've never used bulky yarn before but I'd to try it now :)
