Over the weekend my mother-in-law came to visit us. Sunday before she left, we decided to run out just her and I to shop a little. Something you must know about me is, I don’t like to shop usually. I have learned now that you just have to go with the right person! Her and I have so much in common, especially with decorating styles so it was so much fun! Kyle couldn’t believe we were gone almost 4 hours. I couldn’t either!
We first started at Goodwill to see if we could find anything cool. We actually found a couple great things! And watching decorating shows has helped me see beyond an old wooden shelf. A little paint and it could be something great!
We had fun at Goodwill and found a couple things. (We also left with a funny story of used lotion squirting in my nose. Laughing tears were shed for me) But the big stop we wanted to go to was Pier 1. I had been there a long time ago with my mom. I am guessing I was in junior high or high school. A time I did not appreciate it obviously.
I am not joking, I walked into that store and my jaw dropped. It was like the store was made for me! Everything was so pretty and the colors drew me in. Kathy and I walked up and down every inch of that store. A worker actually said to us, “Oh are you guys still here? That’s great!”
The only hard part about that place are the prices. I loved looking at everything but knew I couldn’t buy any of it. Kathy splurged on a really cute coffee mug but I went home with nothing. I am totally ok with that, but I don’t plan on going back there anytime soon. I did go home with a lot of ideas, which is great. Bring on the garage sales! (which I don’t like going to)
Here are some things I found at Pier 1 that I loved…
Can you tell I LOVE green??
I am also on the hunt for some great canisters for for the kitchen to hold flour and all of that. I saw these and fell in love.
I can’t wait to really start decorating and finishing our living room and kitchen. We have a tight budget but I’m ready for the challenge. Now I just need to finally decided on paint colors. I’ve waited way too long to do this
Happy Tuesday folks!
Glad you had a good time. It is more fun when you have someone to shop with. I love Pier 1 but I agree they are too expensive.
ReplyDeleteI actually used to work at Pier 1. Our nearest store is now an hour away. I did some shopping with a gift card this weekend. I have the clearance plates that match that green canister now. I could just walk and smell at that store all day! I would buy everything you showed in your post.
ReplyDeleteI love that store also..but you are right..We also have a store called Kirlands...it is almost like Pier 1 but with better prices!
ReplyDeleteI am right there with on the shopping deal. I really don't like to shop with the hubby. I tell everyone he doesn't shop, he inventories. I get really, really tired shopping with him. I also don't like yard sales. That's just too funny. The items you found were really pretty. Maybe I need to wander through Pier 1 myself. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely things you have there :) I love Pier1!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for popping by...
I love your blog and I follow it with my reader even though I don't leave comments...Your posts are always very inspiring with wonderful colors :)

I agree when you have the right shopping partner...it is completely different! I am glad you hand a wonderful time. I haven't been to Pier 1 in ages. I enjoy reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteBTW,I nominated you for a One Lovely Blog Award!
Have a lovely week!
I remember back when Pier 1 was dirt cheap, in the early 70's. Funny thing is, I don't think the merchandise changed much, just our concept of value. I love the store too, but I'm a window shopper there!
ReplyDeleteI know I'm two weeks late but with Pier 1 just wait for the end of season sales. You'll make a killing!! I'm talking 0.99c mugs and the like.
