Can I Get Your Input?

::Update:: The blog has officially moved! Thank you so much for all of your input. I really appreciate it. Please come check out my new blog and follow along! www.maryjanesmaryjanes.com

Hi everyone! It’s been a long time! Life happens and we get busy. Blogging is always way in the back of my mind and I miss it. I’m ready to jump back in.

My friend Rachel and I decided to start blogging again and we are really excited. We are each starting fresh with new blog names and new content. I plan on writing about my faith, fitness, food, tips and tricks, and just real life fun stuff! I want to encourage other moms. I want to show that life doesn’t need to be picture perfect. I want it to be fun and welcoming. I plan on adding plenty of crochet and knitting stuff as well. I have some WIPS I am excited to finish and share!

Here’s a sneak peak of one of the WIPS! (I can’t post without a picture)

So here is where I need your help. I know a lot of you awesome readers are crochet or knitting fans. Do you like this blog to be just crochet and knitting? Or could I combine all of the subjects I have listed above with the crochet and knitting stuff? I would love to keep in touch with all of you readers. So would you be willing to give me your input?

Should I add crocheting and knitting to my new blog or keep it separate it here?

Thank you so much everyone! Thanks for sticking with me even when I don’t post much. I’m excited to get back into blogging and to share more.

Blessings,

Mary

  1. personally i love 'bit of everything' blogs! all posts being 'this is what i'm working on, this is what i finished' can get a bit samey over time both to write and to read!

  4. Most important is to be yourself on your blog. Make posts about the things that inspire you. About things you love to do. Have fun blogging. People with the same passions, hobbys and lifestyl will visit your blog with pleasure.

  5. If you want to stay consistent you have to find topics that motivate you. However, you also have to find content that connect with your readers. Skipping from topics will draw some readers and disconnect others. The strength of your content may be enough to attract and hold a new audience that may enjoy an varied content.

  11. Like others, I would say go with what feels right to you. For me as a reader, I would like a mix of everything as we don't really divide our lives up into sections....everything crosses over and gets mixed up in life and if I'm not interested in a post I don't have to read it! Good luck !

  12. I tend to shy away from blogs that deviate too far and too often from the theme that originally drew me to that particular blog. I also tend to stay away from blogs that focus on musings on someone's faith. Having said that, the aim of showing other young moms that everything needn't be perfect to live a wonderful life is a worthy endeavor. Best wishes with whatever direction you ultimately choose to go with.

  13. I feel it is your blog and you should blog about whatever you want. I love to hear about projects and peoples lives, it is what helps me feel connected. If you lose readers well so be it, you will gain others that will mean more to you.

  14. It is ultimately your decision, however having 2 separate blogs to keep up with sounds overwhelming to me. I like to read a bit of everything so I'm good either way as long as there's plenty of crochet posts Lol.

  15. I'm not necessarily a crochet fan. I just came by this blog because I was interesting in learning how to do it and ended up staying because I love seeing all the things you make. To make it easier on yourself you will probably want to post about crochet and knitting stuff on the combined blog. I look forward to seeing the link, so I can check out it out.
