{ Wool and the Gang REVIEW }

WoolandtheGangReview

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well!

I had an awesome opportunity to review a new crochet kit from Wool and the Gang. They have had many kits for knitting and now they have a collection of kits for crocheting as well!

Wondering what is in a crochet kit? Well first off, I think it’s genius. These kits have everything you need to make a project. They come with yarn, a pattern, a crochet hook, and even a needle for weaving in your ends. It’s perfect for beginners, someone looking for a new item to make, or for anyone who doesn’t have access to some of these items. They also have different difficulty levels if you are more experienced with your crocheting. There’s something for everybody.

Go check out their kits here!

When I got the package in the mail, the first thing that impressed me was the packaging. It had the details of the project, a picture, and was even sealed with a cute sticker.

When I opened it up, I was excited to see all of the goodies inside. Like I said, it came with everything you need for the project!

The yarn for this project is a bulky t-shirt yarn that I was excited to try for the first time. I also loved the colors they chose!

Each package has cute details and great instructions

Here is my finished basket!

At my daughter’s request, I started with the pink yarn and ended with the navy.

As I was working with this yarn and pattern, I noticed a couple things.

1. It works up very quickly because of the bulky yarn so the project is perfect for something quick.

2. The yarn is very sturdy and makes for a thick and functional basket.

3. I am a very tight crocheter, therefore this yarn was sometimes hard to work with for me. It would get very stiff and tight. After I loosened by tension, I noticed it got a lot easier and I was able to go a lot faster.

4. The written out pattern is very easy to understand and read. It even has pictures and instructions for each stitch you need to know for the pattern.

5. I am overall really happy with the results!

I did tweak the pattern just a tiny bit when I got to the side of the basket. When it was time to start working up the side, I did a single crochet into the back loop for one row. This just gives the transition a little nicer look. Again, personal preference for me.

Here is the basket with the rim not folded down. You can use it either way in my opinion!

Now, when I saw in the picture that there was a plant in the basket, I panicked. Unfortunately in our house, lovely greenery, plants or flowers don’t last long. I figured I can use it for something else and it will still be cool. What’s great about the pattern is you can use it for so many other things.

For example, a little basket for my daughter to keep her little animals I have made her…

…or even a basket to keep your yarn and accessories in or even a current project.

I think the options are endless and just one more reason why I love the pattern!
