Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend.
I am happy to say I finished my knitted scarf! It isn’t as long as it should be but I was getting impatient. I did actually enjoy making it. It was good practice for knitting and also helped me follow a pattern.
This scarf is called the Brisbane Scarf from Lion Brand. I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn and the color is wheat. It’s really thick, cozy and warm! I can’t wait to wear it. Well kind of… When I wear it I am guessing the temperature will be freezing cold and I will be plowing the driveway
At least I get to wear my warm hat! I love this hat. I may have to share the pattern. It’s so easy and fast. You may want to have some soft and bulky yarn prepared if you want to make it.
Speaking of keeping warm, I think some cups of coffee will be nice and toasty in these Java Jackets!
I loved making these for my mother-in-law’s coworkers. I think the colors they chose are awesome! I hope they like them
In other news, I started another knitting project. I honestly don’t know what I was thinking when I did. This project is going to be hard and way too advanced for me. BUT I am going to do my best. I’ll show you on Wednesday. Any guesses?
I am brainstorming some Christmas gift ideas for some people. I don’t want to crochet something for everyone since that will be a lot of work. But I am stumped on something. My nephew, who is 11 years old, needs a gift. I want to crochet him something but I have no clue what kids his age (and gender) like. I am crocheting something for his younger brother and sister so that’s why I want to crochet something for him too. Any suggestions? If you have any ideas I would love to hear them!
Well that’s all for now. I have been sick for about a week now with an annoying cold. So I apologize to anyone who has emailed me or commented since I probably haven’t responded. I will try to respond today or tomorrow!
~Have a great Monday my crochet buddies~
I love your hat and scarf...pretty colors! The coffee cozies are adorable - they look so sweet all laid out together. I'll keep thinking of something for Dalton - that's a tough one! MaMa
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the book knitted monster's? It has very fun project, something I am sure your nephew would love.

If your 11y.o. nephew likes Angry Birds- there are some patterns for those that look good?
ReplyDeleteGood luck with finding something, and you scarf and hat look great!
I'm so sorry you haven't been feeling well. I hope you are better soon. I found this pattern over the weekend and although I'm not making it for a boy, it could be used for an 11 year old boy. I wish I knew how they flew after you made them, but I still think they are very cool.

I completely sympathise, I'm full of a cold too! Hope you start feeling better soon :-)
ReplyDeleteNo idea what an 11 yr old boy would like... They're usually "too cool for school" aren't they! I suppose it depends if he's a 'young' 11 yr old or an 'older' 11 yr old. My cousin for example was more like a 16 yr old at that age!
You could crochet a robot, they're always awesome :-D Or a hat, everyone needs hats!
You always have such great colors! Super cute.

I am making a really similar scarf right now but in crochet. Guess it is a fake knitting pattern (as advertised) as I looked up your pattern to see if we were making the same one!
ReplyDeleteLove the hat too and really hope you will share the pattern. I am making a few similar ones for kids but need a women's sized pattern too!
Hola. Es precioso lo que has hecho, el gorro, la bufanda y las cintas de pelo de colores.
ReplyDeleteUn saludo.
I would love to know where i could get the pattern that your using for the flowers. Im not sure if you've shared it or not. I wouldn't mind buying it.
ReplyDeleteSocks?? If you're knitting socks, I hope you'll join us this year for "Turning Heels in the New Year"....stay tuned :-)

If you think your scarf is too short, sew the ends together for a cowl! I've done this a couple times and enjoy them more than a too short scarf!
