Here are my Work In Progress projects this week…
First off, I am working on three warm and cozy hats for a girl I went to high school with. We have connected again through our blogs. She is so sweet and an amazing woman. Unfortunately, not long ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is also pregnant with her first baby. When I heard the news I was shocked and saddened. But she is taking on this time in her life with complete faith in God and that He will help her through this.
I got a message from her asking if I would make her three hats that she could wear this winter to keep her head warm for if she loses her hair. I was honored that she asked me and also a little saddened knowing what they were for. This project has been emotional but something I am so happy to do for her.
She picked brown, black and grey for the hats. Then I will make a bunch of different color flowers on hair clips so she can clip which color she wants on her hat.
I like these hats so much I am going to make one for myself for the winter!
Here are Leanne’s blogs if you want to learn more about her

I’m almost done with my friend’s headband/ear warmer. I had to start over because the first yarn I used made it way too small. I now just have to finish the flower and it will be good to go!

Now this isn’t a work in progress….yet. I bought this fabulous and beautiful yarn online recently. It is so soft and the colors are awesome! I just don’t know what I want to do with it yet. I am thinking a blanket. Possibly the famous ripple blanket everyone talks about. What do you think?
I am just in love with the yarn! I don’t want to touch it because then it won’t be pretty anymore.
Hailey likes it too
I will think of something soon. For now I am keeping it safe in a Joann’s bag in a closet.
I hope you all have a great Wednesday!
Side note: I haven’t forgotten about the next Tunisian crochet tutorial. I have all the pictures taken. I just need to edit and write up the post. I think you’ll like the next stitch just as much as the first one.
That is so sweet of you to do for your friend! I'm sure she will love them!
ReplyDeleteI make hats, scarves and shawls for my local cancer center. The nurses and patients love to see me coming with new things. I'm headed there tomorrow when I'm off, to drop more stuff off.
That yarn is so pretty!!! I really like the colors you chose.
I love it all... the hat, headband and especially the yarn! It is beautiful.. I could definitely see those colors in a ripple blanket. You know I am going to ask you about the hat and headband pattern.. ha ha! Are they available on the web somewhere?
ReplyDeleteAlso, can't wait for the next Tunisian stitch, I am really liking it so far :)
Love the hat idea! You are a great friend to do that for her. I also love the yarn! I'm always looking for yarn online.
