{ WIP Wednesday }

Here are my Work In Progress projects this week…

Two Fat Birdies in some really cute colors! These are for a customer but I may have to make some more to add to Hailey’s collection

I have my jar for another jar cozy! This one is taller than the other jar I used so it will be perfect for knitting needles. I was going use the same colors as the other one but I decided to pick some new ones. I think the cream and dark pink are really pretty

Any guesses what this is?

IMGP3572 edit

Ok I’ll tell you. It’s going to be a little mug cozy! Of course almost all my mugs are too big for this one but that’s ok. I can make the next one bigger. This may look done but there are a couple more things I need to add to make it better.

I am also (slowly) working on my scarf. I like knitting but I can’t sit and do it for long periods of time like I can with crocheting. Plus with the needles I’m using, it sounds like I’m sharpening knives when they rub together! That can get distracting.

Man when I look at the scarf, it makes me wish I had this pattern in a big comfy blanket

Have a great Wednesday!

Girly Hats

I finally get so show you what I made with the cute pink and yellow yarn I had on here awhile back!

My good friend Rachel had a beautiful baby girl about a week and a half ago. I decided to make the baby and her older sister Olivia some hats.

I made matching yellow and pink ones for both the girls then an extra white one with a bow for baby Evelyn.

I had to wait to show you these hats until they got them in the mail. I didn’t want to spoil the surprise

I have been getting some sneak peaks of the girls wearing their new hats through text messages. There are just so cute!

Jar Cozy

I see these cute jar cozies all over the internet. I have always loved them but I usually don’t have spare jars around to use. Well I bought a jar of peaches at the store a couple weeks ago and when they were gone, I got excited! I finally had a jar to make a cozy.

Here is my lovely jar filled with all my crochet hooks. They’re staying all nice and cozy being surrounded by my two favorite colors

IMGP3535-edit_thumb8

This unfortunately was my second attempt at making one. The first time I just used the wrong yarn and it ended up too big. This one turned out perfect!

IMGP3536-edit_thumb7

I used Vanna’s Choice, which I always use for for little projects like this. All I did was chain 42 to fit the jar then did double crochets in each row. The top row I did tighter single crochets to bring it in a little. It really helped the cozy fit the jar better.

Now my little jar sits on our end table full of crochet hooks. I can walk up and grab whatever I need when I’m in the mood to crochet.

I plan on making another one when I empty our spaghetti jar in the pantry. The jar is a little taller so I can use it for my knitting needles!

…………………………

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! We had fun picking apples, adding a new member (a fish) to our family, making tasty chicken chili and just enjoying the fabulous fall weather.

Oh and of course some football on Sunday. Here are my two Packer fans!

What did you do over the weekend? Did you get to enjoy any craft time?

Crochet or Clean?

Yesterday I had a case of “The Mondays” and just got nothing done

Today it’s catching up with me. I want so bad to sit down with a new pattern I have been itching to try and just crochet the day away. I almost did and I am sitting here battling myself in my head.

“Oh you can sit and just start the project”

“No, no I can’t! I have to vacuum the whole house, wash bedding, dust, clean the bathrooms, make a grocery list… (you get the picture) All while keeping up with my sweet Hailey.”

So folks, cleaning has won. It was a close race and I almost gave in. I just have this thing where our house has to be clean and welcoming when someone comes for a visit. Even if it’s someone that could care less how the house looks. So I will be spending the day cleaning and dreaming of crocheting.

Want to know the good part of all this? 1. The house will be squeaky clean which is a great and calming feeling. 2. Our visitor, my mother-in-law, is a crocheter and knitter! So I’m sure we’ll get some time to relax and enjoy some craft time.

We’re really excited for Hailey’s Gram to come tomorrow so I have no complaints… just dreams of crocheting.

I’ll leave you with a picture of my little helper. She loves helping me make scrambled eggs for breakfast in the morning. She’s getting really good too!

I’ll also leave you with this really cute fall printable I found on Pinterest. I just love printables. I have a couple around our house now.Smile

You can print it out for FREE here

Have a great day friends! The Windex and Pledge are calling my name

Story behind this picture…

A family photo that shows a little girl beside her father and his fellow soldiers in uniform as they prepare to go to war. Four-year-old Paige Bennethum really, really didn’t want her daddy to go to Iraq. So much so, that when Army Reservist Staff Sgt. Brett Bennethum lined up in formation at his deployment this July, she couldn’t let go. No one had the heart to pull her away.
