Yesterday I decided to take a break from my other projects and jump into a new one. I tend to do that sometimes if I am getting bored with something. So I made this adorable pink kerchief!
It was really easy to make which is always nice. I used some Sugar n’ Cream yarn since I have a ton of it. Then I used some extra Lion Brand Cotton Ease for the flower. I just love the colors!

Last week my brother and niece came to visit! We all had a lot of fun together. Hailey loves playing with her cousin Sophia.
Early on in their visit, Sophia saw some of Hailey’s crocheted hats I had made. I asked if she wanted me to make her one. She was so excited and requested the plum purple yarn, which is her favorite color.
Here are the girls in their matching hats!
Sophia loved hers so much that she fell asleep with it on and wore it all day the next day. 
My brother also requested a hat in Navy colors since he is a Navy man. I have to admit, I am not the best at making adult hats. I don’t know why but for some reason they always end up too big. Well I looked through my patterns and found one I think would work great. My brother liked it so I made it!
I’m happy they liked their hats!

I’m making another baby blanket for my friend Jess. Hers will have a yellow stripe in the border instead of green. I think it will look really pretty
I've been whipping up some fun Java Jackets. I want to make a variety of colors and possibly add a cute little flower to some.
I think the flower girls it up a little. 
Oh and guess what else I have been doing? Sewing!! It’s been really fun. My friend Jess also asked if I would sew her some curtains for her baby’s room. I hadn’t sewn since high school so I was pretty rusty. I think I jumped into a project that was more difficult than I should have started with. But it’s been fun! Thankfully my mom was here to help me get started and refresh my memory. I’ll share the finished curtains soon. I’m almost done!

Well if you’re wondering why I haven’t posted in awhile, it’s because we moved into our new house! We have been busy unpacking and having fun outside in our new back yard.
My mom has been visiting and we decided to take some pictures of my finished baby blanket for my friend. My mom has an awesome camera so it was really fun
We also took some fun pictures of the Java Jacket I made. I plan on making more of these in different colors. They’re so fun and easy to make
To get the texture all you do is alternate doing front and back post double crochets. Such a cool and simple technique!
And guess what? I put these in my Etsy shop!

Here are my Work In Progress projects right now…
A really cute and summery hat for Hailey. It will have a thick and floppy brim around the bottom. Perfect for keeping the sun away from her eyes and face.
For my friend’s baby shower my mom and I are throwing, we’re doing kind of a bird theme. So I’m crocheting some fat birdies and a little egg that will go in a nest. I’m really excited to see how the whole party will come together!
The mama birdie will get a bow to make her a little more girlie.

I’m also working on a couple Java Jackets for my friend Katie and my mother-in-law. They’re so fun easy to make! I will take pictures when I get my hands on a coffee from Starbucks or Caribou.
And of course, I am going to start my friend’s baby blanket like the one I just finished recently.
Phew that seems like a lot of stuff! But I’m enjoying every bit of it so no complaints here.

I am so pleased with how it turned out. I get to make another one for my other friend Jess for her little girl on the way. Instead of a green stripe she wanted a yellow stripe in the border, which I think will look adorable.
I want to take better pictures with natural lighting today. The flash on my camera is pretty bright. So stayed tuned

It’s finished! Hailey’s purple cardigan is finally done and I love it. I have to say it, I can’t believe I made this! This is the first clothing item I have crocheted besides a hat. The pattern from Linda Permann’s Little Crochet pattern book was awesome.
It’s basically crocheted in one piece except for at the end you go back and add a row to the sleeves and the edge down the middle.
I used Caron’s Simply Soft yarn so it’s really soft and also kind of shimmery. The yarn is just beautiful.

Now I can’t wait to try more of Linda’s patterns. I’m not sure which one I will do next but I’m sure I’ll love it!
