{ WIP Wednesday }

Here is my Work In Progress project this week

My only project right now is the lovely granny stripe blanket! I’ve been making a lot of progress, which is very exciting.

I decided to add a little something to the blanket. Well it was partially my husband’s idea too! I have about 8 granny squares that I made from the Square a Day in May project (yeah that went well). He thought I should maybe add some to Hailey’s blanket since they were just laying around. So I picked four squares that had most of the same colors as the blanket and weaved them together.

Here is my progress!

IMGP3155 edit

I had to do a little trial and error with attaching the rows to the squares but it’s working out now. I also realized this blanket will have some flaws here and there. But I’m not worried about that at all. I don’t think Hailey will mind

IMGP3158 edit

So now I have a granny stripe/granny square blanket! I’m so excited for it to be finished so Hailey can cuddle in her bed with her new blankie.

Lucky Hailey, I'd love to snuggle up with this! The colours are so perfect, and I really like the idea of combining stripes and squares---especially with those amazing squares you made. I especially like the heart one.

Gorgeous blanket! And how clever of you to attach and work around the squares in the middle of the blanket.
How great is it that your husband helped come up with the idea for adding the squares!? :-) It's nice that he really shows an interest.

So pretty. Can't wait to see the finished blanket. So clever to add the squares in the middle. Hubbies can be so clever and think differently to us and sometimes come up with fantastic ideas.

Here's one for the men!

I like how the granny squares in the middle look. As much as I love granny stripes, it breaks it up rather nicely, and the colors work so well together!
