It’s time to present to you my first giveaway at Crocheting the Day Away! I really want to do this as a thank you to all of you readers. I love every one of your sweet comments. I wish I could give something to everyone, but I can’t. Maybe I’ll try to do another giveaway in the future.
I went to Michaels on the hunt for some goodies for the giveaway. Of course there is always tons of yarn and great crochet hooks and gadgets to see. I didn’t know where to start!
What I have for one lucky winner is what I would call, “The Beginner Crochet Package".”
Includes…
- A beginners guide on how to crochet
- Two balls of Vanna’s Choice Baby yarn in pink and green
- 3 pack of crochet hooks (4.25 mm, 5 mm, and 5.5 mm)
For those who aren’t beginners, this is just your chance to get some more yarn, hooks and patterns to add to your collection! I personally think you can never have to much.
This beginner’s guide is awesome. It has detailed instructions with pictures on how to do each stitch. It also has information on how to choose yarn, what supplies you should have, and other great tips.
It also has a bunch of great patterns! Including how to crochet the basic granny square.
Don’t feel intimidated about learning from a book. I think this is the perfect book to guide you through. It’s also great because you can bring it with you anywhere.
For the yarn, I chose two bright and fun colors for you to practice with. Vanna’s Choice is a great yarn with a ton of colors to choose from.
This pack of hooks is great for first starting out. You’ll see that a lot of basic patterns tend to use these sizes.

My favorite project was my younger sons baby blanket. Great pattern and I used a cotton/acrylic blend of yarn that I really loved. I taught myself a few years ago to crochet but had learned the basics a long long time ago in high school! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI have been crocheting since age ten, about 32 years! My favorite project was a ripple blanket made for my Mom. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun giveaway!! I LOVE that yarn!!
ReplyDeleteI started crocheting when I was 21...(I'm a late bloomer, I guess!) so for about 11 years!
My favorite things I've crocheted have been the baby blankets I've made for each of my children! I can't narrow it down to just one of those!! :)
I started crocheting when I was 8, so about 12 years ago. My grandmother thought it was very important that I know how to crochet. When I was pregnant with my youngest son (now 15 months old) I crocheted a "snuggle sack" and that was by far my favorite project. I made two more for my best friend's twin girls born later that year =)
ReplyDeleteI WANT TO LEARN!!!!! And yes that bad!! I would love to learn how to make hats, baby hats, big kid hats, adult hats...lots and lots of hats!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been crocheting for 11 years. I learned on my honeymoon while visting my Aunt. I have had many favorite projects. One was dresses I made for my twin girls while I was pregnant. I used the same varigated yarn, yet the turned out very different. One was more stripey while the other the colors were more in clumps. They were both cute. I do live in Canada, but if I win...I could get the gift sent to my Aunt in Philadelpia who taught me to crochet. (hladun@mts.net)
ReplyDeleteI have been crocheting for a couple of years. Whatever I just finished is always my favorite thing. :-p Right now that's a cute wool capelet.
ReplyDeleteInitially, my Grandmother taught me to crochet when I was about 7 or 8. But I didn't do it regularly and forgot how. Now, I'm 36 and am learning all over again. And I'm ADDICTED! My favorite thing was the first thing I made 3 weeks ago: a cute little iPod cozy for my daughter!
ReplyDeleteI've been crocheting for three years now and I love it! I taught myself using YouTube. My favorite project I've made is probably a little "granny" style purse made with turquoise, brown, red, and white with a big flower on the front. I adore Vannas Choice and I would LOVE to win this giveaway!!

This is a GREAT giveaway and I hope you have more like it for those of us who probably won't win. But I'll jump at the chance, regardless.
ReplyDeleteI literally just started crocheting and am learning as I go. I orginally started planning on making things for my daughter (6 mos) but am interested in more than that, now. I have only made a scarf and hat for her with a hideous (sp?) flower. And a scarf and hat for me. I'm planning on make different things.

Hi! My name is Cherisse and I have been crocheting since I was about 12, but have really gotten into it about a year ago. My favorite things to crochet are my amigurumi toys. They are so much fun to make and I can do so much with them because the possibilities are endless! :)

I have been crocheting steadily for 6 years. My favorite thing to crochet is afghans, especially the one that I made for my aunt that passed away from cancer. It had a pattern with one block out of place that represented her cancer. No one ever knew it but me.
