The Hats Keep On Coming

Time to share some more hats I’ve made! I am now making hats just for my mom’s show. I have done a couple for friends as well but I’m on a mission to get as many hats made as I can. I also realized I have been slacking on making boy hats. The blue one is the first I’ve made!

This hat I made for Kyle’s friend’s friend’s baby who is due in February. If that makes sense. It’s a size 3-6 months and I think it will look so cute on a little baby!

I am also in the process of starting an Etsy shop! I have had mixed feelings about doing this but I am taking the leap. Ha I have one thing available right now but I will put more items in when I can.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Candy Corn Trick or Treat Bag

I am so pleased with how this turned out! I can’t wait for Hailey to use it.

This worked up pretty fast. It was just single crochets working in rounds. I got the pattern from LionBrand.com. The yarn I used was called Lion Wool. I love the colors!

Hailey will have all kinds of goodies to fill up her new bag :)

After Hailey uses it for trick or treating I will probably felt the bag and use it as a decoration for the future!

Baby Cocoon

I want to first say that I love trying new patterns! I like learning new things and seeing how it turns out. So when my friend Rachel wanted me to crochet this Baby Cocoon I said yes right away! Rachel has a photography business and would be using it as a prop for newborn babies.

This was actually a very easy pattern. At first I didn’t get it but once I got started I had a “duh!” moment. All you do is double crochets in rounds, increasing on the ends.

I loved the yarn the pattern used! It was so soft. It’s called Lion’s Brand Homespun Yarn. This color is called Earth. I may have to make a blanket out of it because it’s so soft and warm.

Thanks Rachel for letting me make this for you! I can’t wait to see pictures of it being used. :)

It just keeps on going…

My crochet project to-do list keeps growing and growing! I hope I can keep in under control and enjoyable. Once it starts feeling like work, that’s when I need to step back and take a break. I enjoy crocheting so much and I don’t want to lose my love for it by being overwhelmed. So I am just going to take each project one at a time and go at my own pace. I just want to finish a project feeling happy and content. I love looking at something I made and looking at the things I can improve on and also the things I love.

To-do

  • Hailey’s trick or treat bag

  • Baby earflap hat for Alicia’s friend’s baby

(I made this one for Hailey earlier this year)

  • Brim hat for my cousin Jackie’s daughter Payton

  • Baby hats for my aunt’s friend’s twin girls (who haven’t been born yet!) :)

  • More hats for my mom’s craft show! I need to start making some with boy colors

It sure does sound like a lot doesn’t it? I am just excited to see how they all turn out! :)

For Sweet Mia

I’m finished! I am done with the blanket for my friend Jess’s daughter Mia. It turned out really cool! I love the colors she picked out.

I used the Lion Brand Cotton Ease yarn which is 50% Acrylic and 50% cotton. It was all done with three pieces of yarn crocheted in at the same time with just a single crochet. Very easy!

This blanket it soft and very warm. As I was crocheting, the blanket would lay on me and I would get very toasty :)

The other night Jess text messaged me asking if I would make Mia another brim hat as well! I had given her one for her 1st birthday but it unfortunately it doesn't fit anymore. So I whipped up a new one for her in (almost) the same colors. This one turned out huge because I used a high size bigger hook than the pattern said. So I hope it works out for her!

I’ll be putting these in the mail tomorrow and starting on my next project!

Kyle’s friend from his old work asked if I could make a hat for her friends baby. She just found out it was a girl so she contacted me with the colors she wants. I’m excited because she wants an earflap hat and I haven’t made one for a newborn before! I think it will look so cute for the winter. :)

More Hats!

I have to say that I love making hats. I am really starting to get the hang of it. It’s so easy for me to just sit with a ball of yarn and work one up.

Recently I made one for my blogger friend Trish’s niece. She chose black and pink as the colors. I had never used black before but it turned out really cool!

I also decided to try making a Christmas colored earflap hat. I took the pattern from the hats I have been making along with a little bit of a different pattern for the earflaps. Overall it was very easy! I took me a little more time figuring it all out but I think my next one will go faster. I got this done in one day! Working on and off

I made this with Hailey’s big head in mind so I made a size 3-5 years. Well that was way too big. It fits me! But it still looks cute on her. :)

I am going to try another one in a smaller size and also maybe using green.
