Knitting

I did it! I finally learned how to knit. I am so excited! I am definitely not moving on from crocheting. I just really wanted to learn both. Kind of the mindset that I am crossing these things off a bucket list.

Learning to knit was a long process for me. I seriously attempted at least three times before I finally got the hang of it. I am also far perfect. I can thank the lionbrand.com videos for teaching me and my mother-in-law Kathy for helping me when I got stuck! I just had a hard time getting comfortable holding two needles instead of one crochet hook.

My first little knitted swatch has many little mistakes in there. But I am still proud of it! Smile

I just did the basic Knit Stitch and next I am going to attempt the Purl Stich. Then I will stop there for awhile and just practice.

Again I am so excited I am getting the hang of it! There are a couple projects I would love to make. The first thing I will make is probably a scarf. Then I want to really try making this beautiful baby blanket!

The pattern seems very simple. Basically all you do is knit little 3x3 inch squares and sew them together. A lot like a crochet granny square blanket. I think I can handle that! Now I just need to find someone who is having a baby so I can make one Smile

It looks great!! You should be PROUD! It's so fun to learn something new, though. I'm teaching myself how to knit continental style rather than the American way I've been knitting. It's hard, but like you, I'll just keep on practicing. Thanks for linking up your first knitting to Fibers on Friday! How special :-)

PS. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your header.

I'm three years in to "learning how to knit" I have only knitted in the round..successfully. I am going the opposite way and learning how to crochet.

Visiting from Fibers on Friday link.

Hi :), how many stitches did you use approximately for a 3x3 square?? Thanks :)
